What's the difference between your room sprays, wax melts and candles?
Same 18 scents, three ways to use them. Room & linen sprays ($18, 3.4 fl oz) give an instant burst for a room, linens or upholstery. Soy wax melts ($12, 3 oz) build slowly in a warmer with no flame. Our Hôtel d'Aroma candles ($25, 9 oz) give you light, warmth and scent together.
What wax do you use?
Soy wax, for both our wax melts and our candles. Candles use a 100% cotton, lead-free wick.
How long do wax melts last?
Each 3 oz (85 g) clamshell gives approximately 50 hours of aroma throw in total. Use one cube at a time. When you stop noticing the scent, that cube is spent, even if it still looks like wax.
How long do the candles burn?
Each 9 oz (255 g) Hôtel d'Aroma candle burns for approximately 50 hours when you follow the care tips below.
Where are your products made?
Every batch is hand-poured, labeled and packed by us in small batches in Miami Beach, Florida. Because it's made by hand, scent strength and color can vary slightly from batch to batch.
How do I choose a scent?
Start with a scent family: Floral, Woody, Fruity, Gourmand, Citrus or Aquatic. Shop by Scent groups all 18. If you're unsure, a $12 wax melt is the easiest way to try a scent before buying a candle or spray.
How to use
How do I use wax melts?
Break off one cube and place it in the dish of a wax warmer made for melts (electric or tealight). Turn it on and let the wax melt. The scent builds over an evening. Add a second cube only if you want it stronger.
How do I change scents in my warmer?
Let the wax cool and harden, then pop it out (a few minutes in the freezer helps it release). Or, while it's still liquid, soak it up with a cotton ball and throw it away. Never pour melted wax down the drain.
How do I get the best burn from a candle?
On the first burn, let the melted wax reach the edge of the jar, usually two to three hours, so the candle doesn't tunnel. Trim the wick to about a quarter inch before every burn, burn no more than four hours at a time, and stop when half an inch of wax remains.
How do I use the room and linen spray?
Shake first, then mist into the air or lightly onto linens, curtains or upholstery from about a foot away. Test a hidden spot before spraying delicate fabric, and keep it off skin, finished wood and polished stone.
Safety
Are your products safe around kids and pets?
Keep candles, warmers, melts and sprays out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a lit candle or a hot warmer unattended. Pets can be sensitive to fragrance, so use scents in a ventilated room and stop if a pet seems bothered.
Any other safety tips?
Burn candles on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts, curtains and anything flammable. Don't touch or move a candle or warmer while the wax is hot. Wax melts are for warmers only and are not edible. Don't spray room spray near an open flame, on skin or in eyes.
